"The dividing line between good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being...we too can be blind
to our sins, allergic to correction, and inclined to justify ourselves..."
The reading today reminds me to have the courage to search my heart, the humility to confess our sins instead of channeling all my energy to making a good impression and covering up faults.
Most people are eager to please, pleasing their parents, their in-laws, friends and spouses. Question is, at what expense? At the expense of disappointing God, our Father? Going against Him, digging our tombs? Truth it, it requires a lot more courage and strength to admit our mistakes, shortcoming and inadequacies but as our Lord's word teaches us, 'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." So today,I ask our Lord to give me the strength to find the courage within me to admit to mistakes instead of finding excuses for myself.
Amen.
