Wow, I can't believe i am actually halfway through this much awaited long weekend.
Just last weekend i was still panicking over my first major event, an important announcement and i can't be more glad that it is finally over! It was quite an eye-opener and it has showed me some ugly faces of the people that i work with. The worst has got to be my Acting Director! (Names have been removed to protect my interest. Yes, i am kiasee but what to do, need that job mah)
She's really one of the President's scholars of the last decade who's moving up the ranks just because she has done well in her studies...sigh...chartered path and everything (Read: perks, fringe benefits, superscale pay) that comes along with it.
But on the whole, I am glad that i got the exposure that i had been looking forward to when i took this job. Part of the exposure is to understand that as a young exec, no matter how hard you work and how well you have done, your boss will always take the credit for it. No thanks will be given for whatever good that you have done but when you screw up, that's it man...you would be in for a hard time! The woman that i am working for will make life living hell! She will make you feel so small that an amoeba can crush you. Sometimes, i wonder if its the government that i am working for or is it she that i am working for.
But i guess that's just working life...at least it prepares me for other jobs that i take on in future..
But one thing that i have learnt when looking for a job is that its really tough working for female bosses.
They are just too ngiao oredi!
Where i a working, i am not working for just one female boss but there are five other female middle management that boss me around everyday...
Really hope i will have better luck with my next job.
